(More customer reviews)I've had this item for months now. I love it. It's a very appealing design, an addition to all sorts of kitchens. But most important, it's a delight to have. In the midst of cooking, when you need to throw something away, who wants to TOUCH the trashcan lid? What if you have something else in your other hand? What if your toe isn't ballet-dancer thin (for the tiny pedal openers)? The infra-red sensor picks up the warmth of your hand, and opens automatically. It's like living in the future! And the battery does last forever (or nearly). I've bought three more -- as birthday and housewarming gifts for friends and relatives, and am now buying another, larger one for myself. ALSO VERY IMPORTANT -- Dr. Uzo Ihenko (the owner) has always been great to deal with. The first one I bought, the older model, was not entirely to my liking. He facilitated the upgrade. He's helped in other ways, speeding delivery on gifts, etc. Any complaints? Well, the sound as it opens is a bit loud and for the first couple of weeks a bit high-pitched, but the sound gets deeper over time, and is easy to get used to and the product is still an absolute joy. (My sister says it's the best gift I EVER gave her.) Highly recommended!
