(More customer reviews)The Brabantia 5L trash can is the best one I've ever bought! I've had this trash can for at least 5 years. I use this size as a compost bucket. No odors escape it, even when we forget to empty it for several days. I have had several larger trash cans that look like this, during my ownership of this can. All the others (different brands) have had the foot pedal give out within a year. I buy a hands free trash can to keep the trash covered, free of curious kitties, AND be able to dump things in it without covering the lid and myself with gooey trash. All the other brands have failed, yet this little can keeps on working. Only recently has the cover begun to stick, which is mostly due to our abuse of it (too much in it, too long, so that it has started to corrode the lid.) The foot pedal still works fine. I am currently purchasing another large trash can (my 5th or 6th). I have purposely sought out Brabantia because I don't care what it costs, IT WORKS! (and I am the ultimate bargain shopper)
