(More customer reviews)This is a nice, large trash can. It's too big to fit underneath our kitchen sink, but it actually works better out in the open, anyway. The sensor does sense us as we're walking by and opens unexpectedly, sort of like those automatic flushing toilets flushing whenever a body moves.
There are buttons to push to open and close it, if waving the hand is not your thing. And if you leave the can open, it closes automatically. That means it often closes when I am taking too long scraping a plate into it.
The can takes regular kitchen size trash bags and there is a ring to hold those bags in place, which is a nice touch.
I got this trash can for Christmas. Not something I'd have bought for myself, but it is more attractive than the foot pedal trash cans and I like it.
