(More customer reviews)I ordered this crusher because I wanted one that didn't require mounting on a wall or floor and that would be child-friendly. It is VERY easy to use, my daughter loves it! While it does not crush the cans flat (they end up about 2 inches thick) they are certainly crushed enough to save space. Smaller children would need help and even older ones may need supervision when using this as it is a tool not a toy (despite its adorable appearance), but it gets the job done and is extremely portable.

The can will stay put when crushing because of a groove designed to hold it in place. (More customer reviews)I have to admit that I was a bit hesitant to pay $30 for a dish rack. My old fashioned, inept dish rack took up too much counter top space and collected unsightly water due to inept draining. I bought a Simple Human trash can last year and was very happy with it so I decided to take the chance. The footprint on this dish rack is small, but not too small. Enough room for several glasses, a few pots, and some silverware or 6-8 large dinner plates. The coolest thing about it though is that the people at Simple Human improved upon the design. They added a swivel spout on the bottom that allows you to direct the water drainage in whichever direction you like. No more water sitting in the bottom of the drain pan growing smelly. It works whether you have an under mount sink or top mount. The dish rack is sturdy and made of durable higher quality materials--not everyday cheap plastic. It also happens to be cute and attractive.

When I read that each was hand painted (and since I figured this was a mass produced item), I was expecting a lot of imperfections and sloppiness.
Definitely not true. Now that I look very closely the painting work is not completely perfect, but nothing I notice when it's on my floor.
I also didn't expect to have the images to be so pleasant to touch ... 3D. The inside is smooth and white.
What you can't see in the photo are a full maned lion, a giraffe, a zebra, an elephant, a tiger, a red parrot, and a cute tree hugging furry animal with big eyes (possibly a lemur).
I highly recommend this product.
