(More customer reviews)I just received my litter locker today. I can see how it will be very handy. save on grocery bags i'm sure. But i'm disappointed in the construction. First off it's flimsy, the lid and body don't snap together very snuggly, so when picking it up, it can come unhinged very easily. i almost have an urge to duct tape it together and just undo that once every three weeks when i empty it. Second, the shape is inconvenient. not really easy to stow away anywhere near the litter box. if you want to keep it handy, you have to live with a giant plastic eye sore sitting in the room. the person that designed this had a great idea here, but clearly didn't have any cats. i don't see how they would have found this something they'd want to sit in their house.
OH, and why no handle? This thing is nearly impossible to move, especially with the aforementioned propensity to unhingedness.

Since I am always concerned about litter box odor I thought the Litter Locker looked like a useful product for isolating waste without running constantly to the trash can in the garage. Similar in concept to a Diaper Genie, the Litter Locker turns out to be precisely what we need. It fits neatly by the side of the litter box, making frequent scooping (you need to use clumping litter) a breeze.
Even with three cats, we only need to empty the Litter Locker once every 3-4 days. I was concerned about how long the refills would last, but we are still on the first one and it's a month now since we started using it. We've had to take some stuff straight to the garage but 90% of the box contents has gone through the Litter Locker and we are just now getting to the end of the first refill cartridge.
The convenience of not having to go the garage in my PJs and slippers to dispose of the box waste every morning is wonderful! Since it's so easy to keep the box clean we can use just one box, so the savings on litter and plastic liners and disposal bags more than pays for Litter Locker refills.
The only reason I don't give the Litter Locker 5 stars (I would give it 4.75 if I could) is that the sides are a bit flimsy and it can be a little awkward to get a very full load out of it. However, it's completely sanitary, and even if I let it get too full it's not messy or disgusting to change. All the parts can easily be taken apart and washed if necessary - a very important feature. The bag is strong enough to hold the waste with leaking yet flexible enough to tie off easily for disposal.
The directions are great! There are two pages with pictures, which may look a bit overwhelming when unpacking it, but it's really easy to set up, use, and refill. The directions cover absolutely everything, but do it once and you don't need them again. It's a simple assembly that goes together very logically.
So ... one cat or a dozen, apartment or huge house, the Litter Locker is a great way to keep the place clean, sanitary and odor-free.

(More customer reviews)We have three indoor cats and our cat boxes are kept in an area that human's dwell as well, so it has been a challenge to find a litter disposal system that works to keep the smell at a minimum.
I'm happy to report that this product works quite well and has done an outstanding job controlling the odor. The bag (while expensive to replace) is easy to change and the foot pedal to open the can works well.
This product would get a five star rating if the scoop were more sturdy or the opening was larger (to allow other scoops to be used). Because the opening in the can is sized for the provided scoop and you actually push it open to deposit the litter, you have to use their scoop. We've resorted to using our large metal scoop to loosen everything up, then use the plastic scoop to try and minimize the risk of the handle snapping.
Overall, it is a very good product and easy to use. While the bags are expensive to replace, we've had it about a month and even with three cats we are on the original bag. By the way the bags are biodegradable, so they get extra points for that!
