(More customer reviews)I just received my litter locker today. I can see how it will be very handy. save on grocery bags i'm sure. But i'm disappointed in the construction. First off it's flimsy, the lid and body don't snap together very snuggly, so when picking it up, it can come unhinged very easily. i almost have an urge to duct tape it together and just undo that once every three weeks when i empty it. Second, the shape is inconvenient. not really easy to stow away anywhere near the litter box. if you want to keep it handy, you have to live with a giant plastic eye sore sitting in the room. the person that designed this had a great idea here, but clearly didn't have any cats. i don't see how they would have found this something they'd want to sit in their house.
OH, and why no handle? This thing is nearly impossible to move, especially with the aforementioned propensity to unhingedness.

(More customer reviews)The best part about this BAG-It kit is the little ring thing that fits inside the receptacle. It's pictured in black here, although mine is a clear plexi-glass type material. I don't know if you can see in the photo, but it's flat and maybe half an inch wide and sits in the little indentation in the top of receptacles. You just take it out, put a plastic bag through the middle and up over the ring and set it into the top of the plastic receptacle.I use old plastic grocery bags and they work fine. When the bag is full, just lift the bag and ring out, toss the bag and put in a new one. You never have to replace those flimsy receptacles again!
The cover thing replaces the flimsy plastic receptacle covers. I put mine under the lid because it looks better that way. The two little white plastic covers, cover the holes so it's one solid piece on the lid.
I've been using this for about a week and it works great. Finally a way around replacing the costly receptacles that will pay for itself in about a month. And it's a good way to recycle plastic grocery bags. Two thumbs up for this handy solution.

(More customer reviews)I bought two Clever Cat litter boxes, that came with sample liners. I placed on order for a pack of replacement liners in my cart - when I went to place the order, I found that the price had gone up in a couple of months. That's a good thing because:
The Clever Cat bags don't fit the Clever Cat boxes very well: as another reviewer noted, they don't fit down into the corners - and they aren't deep enough to fit securely over the rim to be held down by the lid. I'm on my fourth liner/try: the cats don't scratch through the liner, they just pull it down, bury it in the litter and pee on it. Yuck!
I found that a drawstring, flexible strength garbage bag from the supermarket fits over the top, into the bottom. It stays tidy and is much much cheaper!

(More customer reviews)First, let me preface this with the fact that we love our cats dearly and work hard to provide them with every comfort known to man including heated beds, an automatic laser pointer that provides hours of fun and catnip filled mice that find their way out from under the couch and other furniture from time to time. We don't, however, love pet hair and hairballs on our furniture. Recently we purchased a new sofa and resorted to draping a sheet over it while at work the first few days. Arriving home to find a couch draped in a bed sheet is not a way of life for us, so we looked at other options and found this device. I was skeptical based on the reviews here but purchased one to test.
You can set "sensitivity" to low or high. When set to high the device sometimes goes off with as little as heavy footsteps = perfect.
Had I had my video camera on when one of our cats attempted to find a soft spot to curl up in (other than the heated bed he loved so dearly until the couch came into his life), I'd have uploaded a video review of a cat in full backflip followed by a panicked exit from the room that entailed one wall collision and a flurry of pet fur.
I love this thing.

Litter Champ Refill Review

(More customer reviews)I read about the intense odor these bags have and I was VERY hesitant to order the Litter Champ. I had free shipping so I gave it a whirl. There is a VERY faint smell to the bags and it's nearly undetectable once the bag is opened and installed.
This system is BY FAR, hands down, easier to use than the Litter Locker.
We have a brood of cats and it's been a blessed addition and replacement to the litter locker. The Litter Locker is great -- but it requires more work to operate -- turning a crank and hoping the bags stay on the wheel...instead of falling off and jamming the unit.
(bought my litter champ on Petco - it's $29 )
We're ordering a second Litter Champ!
I'm sensitive to fragrance in things and I can honestly say these bags didn't bother me at all. Happy with my purchase.

(More customer reviews)I had high hopes for this product, believing it would simplify changing the litter box, and reduce or eliminate the need for buying so many containers. However, they're a tight fit and tear easily.
The problem is the sharp corners on the containers themselves. It is next to impossible to pull the liners over the edge of the container without the plastic tearing on those corners. If they were about a half an inch wider at the "mouth," it would probably work fine, but I can't rate them highly as is.
One potential solution, that I haven't yet tried, is to clip of the two offending corners and see if the situation improves. That's not a big deal, but a step that would be unnecessary if the liners were a bit bigger.

Good Points
1. Has a A, B, and AB setting which lets you control individual dog access to areas or objects (such as separate food bowls for special diets, rooms, etc)
2. The shock is mild but definitely uncomfortable (I tested it on me before I used it on the dogs). It is milder than the strong static shocks I regularly get around the house.
3. The dogs quickly learn to avoid things that cause shocks.
Limits
1. Collar wear is recommended to be limited to 12 hours due to rubbing by the stud on the neck. This can be a problem with intelligent dog and schedules requiring longer wear times. Intelligent dogs can quickly learn that the collar is the source of the shock and can wait until they are not wearing it to get into the forbidden.
2. The range increments listed (2-12 ft) are not dependable. I find mine, with direct line of sight, is half that or less.
3. The six available range settings are not enough. There are times that 1 or 2 ft increment is too much.
4. Area of affect is spherical. Keep this in mind when deciding where to use them. Depending on the range setting, just walking by the counter or under the table can set them off even if all you intended was to discourage Fluffy's nose from appearing on the counter/table top. The only way to alleviate this is to find some way to dangle the zone from the ceiling to correctly limit the reaction area to those 3 ft off the floor.

Since I am always concerned about litter box odor I thought the Litter Locker looked like a useful product for isolating waste without running constantly to the trash can in the garage. Similar in concept to a Diaper Genie, the Litter Locker turns out to be precisely what we need. It fits neatly by the side of the litter box, making frequent scooping (you need to use clumping litter) a breeze.
Even with three cats, we only need to empty the Litter Locker once every 3-4 days. I was concerned about how long the refills would last, but we are still on the first one and it's a month now since we started using it. We've had to take some stuff straight to the garage but 90% of the box contents has gone through the Litter Locker and we are just now getting to the end of the first refill cartridge.
The convenience of not having to go the garage in my PJs and slippers to dispose of the box waste every morning is wonderful! Since it's so easy to keep the box clean we can use just one box, so the savings on litter and plastic liners and disposal bags more than pays for Litter Locker refills.
The only reason I don't give the Litter Locker 5 stars (I would give it 4.75 if I could) is that the sides are a bit flimsy and it can be a little awkward to get a very full load out of it. However, it's completely sanitary, and even if I let it get too full it's not messy or disgusting to change. All the parts can easily be taken apart and washed if necessary - a very important feature. The bag is strong enough to hold the waste with leaking yet flexible enough to tie off easily for disposal.
The directions are great! There are two pages with pictures, which may look a bit overwhelming when unpacking it, but it's really easy to set up, use, and refill. The directions cover absolutely everything, but do it once and you don't need them again. It's a simple assembly that goes together very logically.
So ... one cat or a dozen, apartment or huge house, the Litter Locker is a great way to keep the place clean, sanitary and odor-free.

(More customer reviews)We have three indoor cats and our cat boxes are kept in an area that human's dwell as well, so it has been a challenge to find a litter disposal system that works to keep the smell at a minimum.
I'm happy to report that this product works quite well and has done an outstanding job controlling the odor. The bag (while expensive to replace) is easy to change and the foot pedal to open the can works well.
This product would get a five star rating if the scoop were more sturdy or the opening was larger (to allow other scoops to be used). Because the opening in the can is sized for the provided scoop and you actually push it open to deposit the litter, you have to use their scoop. We've resorted to using our large metal scoop to loosen everything up, then use the plastic scoop to try and minimize the risk of the handle snapping.
Overall, it is a very good product and easy to use. While the bags are expensive to replace, we've had it about a month and even with three cats we are on the original bag. By the way the bags are biodegradable, so they get extra points for that!
