(More customer reviews)I've been hunting a storage box for around the pool for quite some time but have hesitated to purchase because they are all so expensive...so I was very excited to find this box. What a great price! It assembled easily, although a little better care could be taken during manufacturing to make sure the screw holes line up more precisely (I have had this same problem will all "assemble it yourself" outdoor furniture, though). Just make sure to follow the instructions and only hand-tighten the screws until after the whole box is assembled, then go back and tighten everything up. It looks fantastic, functions great, and is a superb value. Highly recommend! ( I also ordered and love the matching Strathwood Camano All-Weather Wicker Trash Can)
UPDATE: After a year in the sun out by the pool (and then being stored in the garage for the fall/winter), the all-weather wicker on the top of this box (and the trash can) did suffer the effects of the elements. Sun caused the top to to fade a little, but worse, it became brittle and easily cracked. The sides of the box were fine, but chunks of wicker eventually started to break away from the lid and it had to be retired. I would only recommend this box be used in an area shielded from direct sunlight.

Leaving them out isn't an option if you want them to stay nice, and storing them in the house or garage and bringing them out when you want to sit down isn't very practical.
So I started looking for storage chests. My husband didn't believe that Amazon would carry such items, but being a long-time Amazon-shopper, I know that it's the first place to go for info and reviews on good products to buy!
I saw that smaller storage chests are just too small. One of them had a number of reviews saying that you can't even put cushions to 4 chairs in there. I knew we needed something bigger.
We are thrilled with this storage chest. My husband said it was a pleasure to put together - ridiculously easy - no tools required and the plastic pieces just snap together! I wish I could say the same for the rest of our patio furniture! Also, this item is extremely well-made. You can open the lid, or prop the lid up with the stick provided (like a grand piano's small stick) and open the doors. You can also put a padlock on it.
This is an attractive addition to our patio and it holds our 8 cushions with room to spare!

So, I had to put it on my back porch where it does very well. This is a great box for storing all of those "miscellaneous things" that tend to clutter one's patio. Only one disappointment: we recently purchased patio furniture, and this box is not big enough to hold any of the cushions. So if you are thinking about buying this for patio cushions, be sure to measure your cushions FIRST and compare it against this box's inner dimensions. But in terms of functionality, and keeping things neat and waterproof, this box is a wonderful asset!!

(More customer reviews)We have an enterprising dog that can get into any trashcan around. This can seemed sturdy, with a tight fitting locking lid and even though it's large for the avg kitchen (16 gallons!), we decided to try it. We (2 reasonably intelligent, handy people) could not get the lid to open. It "snaps in place tightly" - they got that right! Maybe there is a trick to it- nope- no instructions, no unlocking mechanisms- it is impossible to get the larger lid to open and the smaller inner lid is locked inside and cannot be accessed without opening the larger lid. Im not going to fight with this can everyday. So, unless you know something we dont or have masochistic tendencies- find a better trash can (atleast a functiong one!)

(More customer reviews)I have had two of these for a few years. They are extremely durable, but there is a major design flaw.
The inside has plastic ribs design to help strengthen the containers.
This is where the problem is. When you fill trash bags up inside the container, the bags expand and the trash
nestles into the grooves. This makes pulling a full bag of trash out of the the container a major struggle. If
your trash bag is on the thin side, it will tear several times and you will be wrestling, tugging, pulling, twisting
and yanking with everything you have.
The other part of this is that the larger of the two openings is smaller than the overall width of the inside. Therefore the bag is bigger inside and all expanded and caught up inside the inner ribs. I dread Trash Tuesdays because of the pain that it has become to remove the trash.
One other note, the containers features very deep graining which keeps the item from looking like cheap plastic, but beware, this also means the dirt settles in. The only way I have found to truly clean these is with a power washer.
