The cover is perfect because they cannot remove it and it keeps them out. They can't chew through it since it is metal and not plastic. It is large enough to store a large bag, but small enough to fit on our back entry. The price was perfect and we are very pleased with our purchase.

(More customer reviews)Excellent product. Previously, we were piling our recycling on our kitchen counter until we accumulated enough stuff to take out to the garage. Sometimes it would pile up a bit. This was unsightly, but we didn't always feel like running out to the garage for one cat food can or one newspaper, etc. Not any more! We use the larger, black bin of this unit for cans, glass, and plastic. And we use the smaller, blue bin for newspapers, small cardboard (cracker or cereal boxes, etc.), and paper. Since we must separate our recyclables this way anyway, this device makes it very easy to do so. At our rate of consumption, it takes us 5-7 days to fill the containers. Works great and our counter is no longer cluttered.
Installation was super easy, it took like 5 min using 4 wood screws (8 are provided in the package). The unit is well made and the ball bearings make the pull-out movement smooth. Nice.

Simple to install, this dual bucket recycler from simplehuman fits out of sight underneath a kitchen counter and includes two color-coded polypropylene buckets (blue 4-gallon and black 5-1/4-gallon for a total of 9 gallons, or 35 liters) to sort trash and recyclables. It features a commercial grade ball bearing track that glides out easily on its stainless steel track. When fully extended, the steel frame extends 16 inches, making it easy to lift out and remove the buckets without hitting the countertop. Just got it and already load it. After some research this is one of the bigger cans @ 13.2 gal. Bag fits snuggly over insert. Lid is slow close. And we can fit so much more trash! Using the smaller one in our bathroom so dog doesn't continue to drag stuff throughout house. Shipping was quick and price was Very good considering other sites. Should have bought this a year ago.

This perfectly fit the slots. The old cans are 10 years old and just starting to crack at the rim; still usable but showing their age. We will use them for yard waste.
