(More customer reviews)I didn't realize how small this thing was, but I guess that's my fault. The can is solid, except for the lid (came a bit dented). The problem I have with this item is that there is a smaller bucket inside the can. There's a handle on the bucket, and you can take it out easy, but this reduced the amount of the room you can fit your trash. A bit pointless for me... unless you want to dump its content into something bigger, then it's pretty convenient.
Overall, it's an okay item. If you want a trash can that's somewhat portable, light, and looks shiny, then go for it. A bit on the expense side in my opinion.

I have such a small space under my kitchen sink and this fits just right PLUS I no longer have to buy plastic bags as the plastic grocery bags work great. Just hook the bags over the handles on the basket and they stay secure even when filled to the top. I plan on buying two more for or bathrooms. Great idea!

I kept all my bags under the bathroom sink, you could imagine the hassle it was to find the towels underneath them (no one ever has the patience to put a bag in the other bags, so it turns into a mess), With this, all you do is crumple a bag into a small ball and place it in the container.
It came nicely packaged as well.

This one uses an 8-gallon bag, and fits perfectly in the space, any larger anywhere and it wouldn't have worked. This wastebasket is the usual good Rubbermaid quality, in a neutral bisquit color. I had searched at every store that even thought about carrying wastebaskets, and saw the same standard brands, sizes and colors over and over, had about given up, but decided to look online. Highly recommend measuring thoroughly the area it will go in, as I had to return several to local stores that were just slightly too big.

(More customer reviews)I truly like the suggestion from one reviewer, who says his wife instead uses old tissue boxes to hold their clutter of plastic bags. This item is almost exactly that, but a bit more elegant for the kitchen, and with more room for the bags as well as a convenient stuffing hole at the top. I also agree that it is a bit pricey for what it is, but admit that for it's look, construction, and functionality I would expect to pay exactly the $10 that it costs (it is pricier in stores and other websites than at Amazon.com). For the reviewers who's only complaint is that it is impossible to pull just one bag from this dispenser, I suggest the ritual I learned from my father (an engineer - the man has a practical ritual for everything). First, check the plastic bag for holes - no use keeping one that has holes, as they're easily recyclable at any grocery store. Then take the bag in one hand at the bottom of the bag and grip it in your fist. Wrap the bag around your fist like an ace bandage, letting any air out of the top as you wrap. Voila, the bag is not a wadded mess, but rather neatly wadded like, say, a sock. Stuff each bag in the hole this way, and they will easily pull out without tangling with other contained bags.

(More customer reviews)There is no doubt that this is a product with superb design (the lid is even contoured for lifting by hand) and build quality. However, the normal operation of stepping on the foot pedal does jerk the lid open with a force that makes the whole can lurch backward. Do this a few times and the can works it's way against a wall or kitchen cabinet and can no longer open fully because the lid needs clearance from behind. Simply moving it forward and away from obstruction allows it to work again. I rated this 4 stars because it's an annoying characteristic that won't go away. The simple extension of plastic into a bumper would keep the hinged end away from walls and cabinets and fix this problem.
