(More customer reviews)When it was delivered the delivery men didn't want to bring it indoors and wanted to leave it to my wife to bring it in but did eventually bring it in.. I unpacked it and discovered it had taken a knock and later found that it had internal damage, made an awful noise and didn't compact or auto-shutoff. I called the makers and they sent out a local company and fixed it quickly. The Gladiator/whirlpool company were very helpful, much better than I was expecting.
The compactor is OK but maybe one with more force would do a better job it doesn't exactly make real small compact cubes of trash. I was expecting that it would crush cans flat but at least is makes them somewhat smaller so that instead of two bins they take up a little over half a bin.
It does however provide some entertainment when there is a sudden pop or bang and you wonder what it was someone threw in the trash. I'd say that if you had a compactor installed in your kitchen it would need a lot of sound proofing.
I don't know yet if it was worth the money only time will tell on that one.
