(More customer reviews)Shame on me for believing Larry Storey's review, above. From a quick search on Google, it seems he's one of the founders of the BagButton company.
I'm unsurprised his "purchase of the Bag Button has been a prime example of how an online purchase should be experienced." since this being the case, he could grab one off the shelf. I am surprised he would write such a review without mentioning the fact.
For anyone considering buying this, I suggest the following free, yet equally effective and quicker method:
Take one garbage bag, thickness not important and fill with your stuff. Twist the top closed a bit, though not enough to entirely prevent air escaping. Then kneel on the bag to get the air out. When satisfied, twist it some more then tie a knot in it.

(More customer reviews)Glad has introduced the ForceFlex replacement for this bag, and now is the only version sold at my local Sam's Club. The newer bag is far more resilient to sharp objects and heavier items but comes with some downsides. It has an odd feel to it, a bit powdery and rubbery, but not a big thing. More annoying is the higher price. Most annoying is closing the drawstring. On the old bag, simply pulling up caused the opening to bunch and seal nicely for tying. On the newer ForceFlex, the drawstrings seem to rub against the rubbery texture and consequently the bag is much harder to seal. Not appreciated in an everyday garbage bag. Unless your personal trash is sharp and heavy, skip the annoying ForceFlex and get these very simple, excellent bags.

(More customer reviews)We used to just dump our compostable kitchen stuff straight into the composting crock, and it was always a horrendous mess when we would carry it out to the main compost bin to empty. Now that I've started using these bags, it's a much less unpleasant task (and we empty the crock more often now, too, because we aren't both trying to put the task off hoping the other will break down and do it instead! :D )
A couple of caveats: the bags ARE, as advertised, biodegradable, so if you leave them in the crock full of wet kitchen scraps for too long, they will start to seep liquid out into the crock. It's more like osmosis - they don't really seem to develop holes at this point, but they kind of ooze liquid through a little bit. I'd say five days is the maximum time you should leave them in there. If you forget and they do start to seep, however, the task of taking the bag out to the compost bin and then washing the crock is still much less objectionable, since the inside of the crock is only wet, not stuck full of coffee grounds and bits of eggshell and all that other stuff I used to hate having to clean out of it every time.
They are also a bit fragile. The practice of cramming in as much stuff as you can by shoving down on top of the contents is just not a good idea here - the bags can be easily torn by hard materials such as banana stems, eggshells, grape stems and the like.
So basically the upshot of the whole thing is: don't shove too much into the compost crock, remove the bags often, and you will find that these bags make your counter-top compost collecting a much more pleasant task.

Drawstring bags are the way to go at a manufacturing facility. We use these in our breakroom and bathrooms. I like the fact that I don't have to locate a twist tie to close the bag. Shipping was reasonable and timely.

(More customer reviews)Let's start with the price issue: I purchased this product from Amazon for $32.11 for a case of four (200 bags), with no taxes and with free delivery. I was very happy with the price, given the convenience of having the item delivered to my home. Since pricing has changed since then, you may be well advised to research the going rate for these bags in your area, before making the decision to buy.
Regarding the product itself: I had been using the drawstring trashbag variety exclusively, before trying out Glad Handle Tie. I had two concerns:
1) would the volume of trash the bag can hold be affected by the location of the handles?
2) would the handles allow for as good trash containment as the drawstrings do?
Answers:
1) After a side by side comparison, there is no volume difference;
2) Actually, the handles are MUCH stronger then the strings (which would sometimes snap); handles are an improvement over strings;
Unexpected upside:
When cleaning the house and carrying the bag with me I am now able to hang it conveniently on door knobs, drawers and doors. This makes it easier to place trash inside (the strings were not as strong and required that the bag be placed directly on the floor, which would frequently lead to spilleage).
Once again: two thumbs up to the product. But be weary of the price!

First, it is useful in our smaller (13 gallon) garbage containers. It fits them well
Second, I prefer draw strings to other mechanisms for closing a bag. They are quite easy to use.
Third, while it is not the heaviest duty plastic bag I've run across, it's tough enough to do the job.
Fourth, the "odor shield" is a real plus. It's kind of nice to have this pleasant scent at work, overriding some of the less pleasant smells that often end up in this bag.
So, a good product. Wish it were a bit tougher, but--other than that--I'm satisfied.

(More customer reviews)These liners are for a small trash can. They are sturdy and have not leaked or broken so far. Drawstring is nice. The manufacturer has not given the weight capacity but I have held up to 8 lbs without any problems. The bags can be used for a variety of other purposes, e.g. packing shoes while traveling, holding dirty laundry while traveling etc. etc.
Only downside is the cost. At almost twelve cents a bag, they are expensive and you can find a lot cheaper trash liners on Amazon or other places, most of them without drawstring though.
