Household Essentials 5601 Resin Wicker Hamper Review

It looks nice against the wall near the bathroom (I live in NYC, so my bathroom is too small to actually have the hamper inside of it), came already assembled, and stores my dirty clothes.
I do have two minor issues with it however...
1) It smells a little funny. This is probably the wicker construction yes, I'm aware, I just thought I'd mention it. It doesn't smell BAD mind you, just a little funny. Wicker-like, I suppose.
2) The lid is not removeable. It has a velcro seal to close it, which is nice, and you can't lose the lid then, but it also means I can't line the hamper with a laundry bag because it can only go around the edges for the front half of the unit, and putting weight inside the bag (clothes) without the back half hanging outside the edges makes the laundry bag sink in. That's not ideal.
Other than that, again, it's a hamper. It looks nice, and my dirty clothes seem to be happy inside it.
Also, for those who may be curious, the hamper is made in China.

We had some older Burlington Wicker hampers that have held up exceptionally well so I hope that these new ones will have the same life-span. The only reason that I did not give it a 5-star rating is because the lid of the hamper isn't as well constructed as the existing hampers that we already own. Those hampers are over 18 years old.

(More customer reviews)This is good for sorting laundry, especially if you're single or a small family. An extra large load in our washer is 1 1/2 of the sections, as opposed to just 1. It's made of seagrass and the odor was so obnoxious, like being in a barn full of hay, I'm afraid it would make allergic individuals sneeze constantly. I even sat it outside in full sun with no change in the odor. I used polyurethane on it to stop the stink. It also couldn't handle much abuse either. As it folds flat, I tied some jute strings to the bottom of the frame to help reinforce it. It doesn't take up much space and with it closed I even have a small workspace.
