I was a little worried about digging a hole 4 feet deep, but using a post hole digger worked just fine. Just make sure the post hole digger you purchase is at least 5 feet tall or it'll be more difficult.
We have an almost 9-month-old shepherd mix and I was concerned that she'd try to get in the doggie dooley or try to eat it. It hasn't happened, at least not yet. I installed it off to the side of the house because I didn't want it right in the middle of the yard.
I'm very happy with this product!

(More customer reviews)This would be a great product if the wheel were not inflatable, if it were just a hard wheel. As it is, it's VERY difficult to inflate the tire because the valve is hard to get to. Then, the tube just split wide open (it seemed pretty dry and crackly) within a couple months of use. Now, am I supposed to go buy a replacement tube for this little tire? What a drag. Even getting the tube out to see how bad the hole in it was: a big pain! - not nearly as easy as changing the tube in a bike tire. I would not recommend this version of this cart to anyone, I would get one that does not have a tube and tire system that needs to be filled with air and replaced. - Oh, and part of the plastic on one side of the assembly that holds the tire broke within days. It still worked, so I was able to use it anyway, but just another drag...

(More customer reviews)I have been using the Garden Gourmet, which is exactly like the 2 here on Amazon, for over 10 years. Same dimensions and same configuration. They are one of the sturdy ones I've tried. And I've tried over 50 composters. Only comment about an earlier comment is this unit is NOT intended for use with worms. This composter needs to reach at least 120 degrees (more like 140) for 21 days....Then unload the entire contents and seperate the ready from the fresh. Worms will not survive above +70 degrees.
On the assemble: It takes a little patience and pay attention to the instruction of the first two layers...They define the front opening, (vertical sliding door)and all those pieces need to SNAP into place to make it strong.
In bear or other country, You can use rebar or steel rods to anchor the four corners the bin,,,,,,,Just DON"T put meat in this bin and you should be fine.
Racoons are a pest..........Take a bungee cord to lock the top

It was a perfect fit for our existing cabinet and installation was easy (that is based on me watching my husband install it without hearing any superlatives). The self closing system is a great feature as are the heavy duty aluminum slides - you can't tell the difference when it's fully loaded with trash and heavy recyclables. The only regret I have is that we should have done this a long time ago! Now we just need to train ourselves to stop going to the spot in the kitchen where we used to keep the old trash can.

(More customer reviews)I've been hunting a storage box for around the pool for quite some time but have hesitated to purchase because they are all so expensive...so I was very excited to find this box. What a great price! It assembled easily, although a little better care could be taken during manufacturing to make sure the screw holes line up more precisely (I have had this same problem will all "assemble it yourself" outdoor furniture, though). Just make sure to follow the instructions and only hand-tighten the screws until after the whole box is assembled, then go back and tighten everything up. It looks fantastic, functions great, and is a superb value. Highly recommend! ( I also ordered and love the matching Strathwood Camano All-Weather Wicker Trash Can)
UPDATE: After a year in the sun out by the pool (and then being stored in the garage for the fall/winter), the all-weather wicker on the top of this box (and the trash can) did suffer the effects of the elements. Sun caused the top to to fade a little, but worse, it became brittle and easily cracked. The sides of the box were fine, but chunks of wicker eventually started to break away from the lid and it had to be retired. I would only recommend this box be used in an area shielded from direct sunlight.
