The base and outside are clear, smooth acrylic, and the frosting is on the inside; coupled with the soft, free-form shape, the overall effect is that of a melting ice cube. Also, this is not a delicate piece - the base is quite thick and the walls are very sturdy. Like I said, very simple and clean, but definitely NOT your same old boring waste can. Highly recommend this product and vendor.
