(More customer reviews)We purchased this trash can about 2 years ago and loved it.. Then replaced our other trash cans(4) when we saw that Costco carried them for a cheaper price. We had my sister and brother in law watch our home while we vacationed in Australia. They were nice enough to take out the garbage but inadvertantly threw out the plastic ring that holds the liner. I checked the dumpster and the city had already collected the trash. I surfed all over the web and located the company that imports these trash cans from China. I have left several messages on their answering service and I never get a call back. We have not had any problems with the lid rising and closing or the mechanics in any way. The D size batteries last for over a year. We have been very happy with the exception of the lack of customer service.

This stainless steel Infrared Trash Can by Nine Stars has manual open/close buttons and a power-saving on/off switch. The infrared motion sensor automatically opens the lid when you are within 10 inches of the sensor.
