(More customer reviews)We loved our trash can at first, but it began to deteriorate fairly quickly. After one month, it wasn't opening properly. After two months, we had to turn it off and then back on to make it work. At three months, the hinge broke and became unusable. It has a warranty, but it is bulky to ship and the cost of shipping made it more feasable to purchase a new trash can. I do not recommend this product, especially if you have children!

This new 60 Liter Recycle Touchless Trashcan NX model has two 30 liter separated compartments. One compartment for trash and one for recycle, or one for paper and one for bottles/cans. It uses the latest sensor technology. Simply place your hand or debris about 6 inches away from the infrared sensor on top of the trash can and the lid will open automatically. The lid will remain open if debris or your hand is within the 6 inch range of the infrared sensor. It will close automatically 3 seconds after debris has been released and your hand moves away. There are two buttons to open and close the lid manually, and an on/off switch on the back of the trash can. Fits any regular 8 or 13 gallon trash bag in each compartment. (More customer reviews)The bucket is well made and well priced, made from light but strong steel. However, the printing on the side looks cheap - the letters in Bucket spell RLICKET because the thin parts of the letters just weren't printed properly.
It wasn't enough for me to return it, but I certainly would not have bought it in store.

I couldn't stand how the trash bags would fall away from the edges of the trashcan and then the drippy gooey stuff would get either all over the can, or worse into the cabinet. My first attempt to solve this was "can bands" which look like gigantic rubber bands. They worked, but they sometimes didn't hold up very well. This is better. It looks like one of those elastic covered ponytail holders- on steroids, but it works great. It holds my kitchen trash bag in place no matter how much stuff is in the bag or how hard my hubby pushes it down to try and compact it. And because it's not exposed rubber, when you want to take the bag out, it easily glides out. A simple thing that makes kitchen life easier and less messy!

(More customer reviews)I generally love Seventh Generation products. It feels good to buy products that are environmentally friendly, from a company that is responsible. However, these trash bags are not their best item. They are thin and rip easily. I use them only in our diaper pail. (We use Seventh Generation diapers as well, which I highly recommend!) The bags will hold a medium heavy load, as long as you don't have a lot of sharp edges in the bag. The best part about these bags is knowing that they are made from recycled plastic, which is good for our landfills.

(More customer reviews)Let's start with the price issue: I purchased this product from Amazon for $32.11 for a case of four (200 bags), with no taxes and with free delivery. I was very happy with the price, given the convenience of having the item delivered to my home. Since pricing has changed since then, you may be well advised to research the going rate for these bags in your area, before making the decision to buy.
Regarding the product itself: I had been using the drawstring trashbag variety exclusively, before trying out Glad Handle Tie. I had two concerns:
1) would the volume of trash the bag can hold be affected by the location of the handles?
2) would the handles allow for as good trash containment as the drawstrings do?
Answers:
1) After a side by side comparison, there is no volume difference;
2) Actually, the handles are MUCH stronger then the strings (which would sometimes snap); handles are an improvement over strings;
Unexpected upside:
When cleaning the house and carrying the bag with me I am now able to hang it conveniently on door knobs, drawers and doors. This makes it easier to place trash inside (the strings were not as strong and required that the bag be placed directly on the floor, which would frequently lead to spilleage).
Once again: two thumbs up to the product. But be weary of the price!
